Show Kiwanis to host banquet ting the FFA will give a short talk. "Challenging Youth in Agriculture" Agri-culture" is this year's FFA Week theme. The message that these young agriculturists are trying to impart to the nation is simple. They seek to inform the public of the importance of the agricultural industry to America and to the world, the value of good citizenship development, de-velopment, and the role of Future Fu-ture Farmers of America in helping meet the challenges in world food production that faces America today. "Because of the many predictions pre-dictions of world hunger in the future, many people have stopped stop-ped listening," said Mr. Phillips. Phil-lips. "Now suddenly, the future fu-ture is here! For the past seven sev-en years our world has not been able to grow as much food as it has eaten. And, finally, fin-ally, the bottomless U.S. surpluses sur-pluses have melted away." "Let us also point out," he added, "that it is estimated that the world as a whole will need 50 percent more food just two decades from now. Meeting these challenges will be in the hands of young agriculturists being trained and developed in such an organization as the FFA." Dr. Verl Smith, dean of the School of Agriculture, USU, Logan, will be the principal speaker at the Kiwanis meeting meet-ing this evening at 7 p.m., at the senior high school.
