Show Open letter Reader writes of plight of dogs, cats For several weeks and all last summer I have read in the papers about the beautification program in Springville, the awards won and about the time and thanks to the committee members. Springville is a nice town but when I look around and see the conditions and the way the dogs and cats are treated I just do wonder if our town can ever be considered consid-ered beautiful or should have won any kind of . an award ? Dogs are tied out in the pold all winter and left in the sun all summer. Cats have come to our house in deplorbale condition con-dition because they have not been fed or have "the cats disease." dis-ease." For a few dollars cats and dogs can have a permanent shot to prevent all this suffering. suffer-ing. If people do not care enough about pets to take care of them why have them? I really believe before anyone any-one starts patting themselves on the back about the "beauty" of Sprignville had better look around and stop these conditions. condi-tions. Frankly I would rather see a bit of trash around than see a poor animal suffer. Let's get busy on this project right in our own homes and help somthing alive and then we'll really see the beauty of oui town. Mary Engle |
