Lynda Weight took over as president of Jaycee Wives Jaycees and Jaycee Wives hold installation banquet awards The Key Girl Award was presented pre-sented to Mary Lu Simmons and the Key Officer Award to Karen Holley. Retiring officers are: Karen Holley, vice president; Carol Huff, seretary; Lynda Weight as treasurer; Linda Hatfield and Myrna Jeffers, directors; Delora Blanchard, historian-reporter; and Geraldine Cook, adviser. ad-viser. Dec. 15, 1791 The Bill of Rights, the term applied to the first ten amendments to the Constitution, went into effect following ratification by the state of Virginia. Taylor Thorpe and Lynda Weight were installed Saturday night as presidents of Springville Spring-ville Jaycees and Auxiliary at their installation banquet at the Oak Crest Inn in Spanish Fork Canyon. Mr. Thorpe replaces outgoing president Robert Snow and Mrs. Weight replaces Barbara Bar-bara Thorpe.. Other officers installed at the banquet include Jim Jeffers, first vice president; Gaye Par-cell, Par-cell, second vice president; Jim Wiley, secretary; Carvel Brin-kerhoff, Brin-kerhoff, treasurer; Robert Holley, Hol-ley, first year director; Jack Howell, seond year diretor, and Robert Snow, state director. Special awards presented to the Jaycees were: The Grant Thorn Award, presented by his son Neil Thorn to Taylor Thorpe: the Bud Shardine Award was presented by Mrs. Schardine to Dave Gabbitas; Key Man awards: Jim Jeffers, Gale Parcell, Wayne Blanchard, Robert Holley and Carvel Brin- Kernori, jacK fioweu was named nam-ed Key Man of the quarter. Spoke Awards: Dave Gabbitas, Carvel Brinkerhoff and Gale Parcell; Spark Plug of the Year, Robert Snow; Spoke of the Year, Dave Gabbitas. Other retiring officers are Taylor Thorpe, first vice president; presi-dent; Jim Jeffers, second vice president; Melvin Weight, secretary; sec-retary; Jim Wiley, treasurer; Jack Howell and Jim Peay, directors di-rectors and Robert Jensen, state advisor. Jaycee Wives The new Jaycee Wives president presi-dent was installed by retiring president, Barbara Thorpe. Other women officers installed instal-led include Myrna Jeffers, vice president; Karen Holley, secretary; secre-tary; LaRae Gabbitas, treasurer; treasur-er; Pat Brinkerhoff, second director; di-rector; JoAnn Ivory, first year director and Sandra Snow, hold over director. |
