Show SpringviSIe Stake makes plans for conference Springville Stake Quarterly Conference will be held Saturday Satur-day and Sunday, May 6 and 7, in the Springville Stake House conducted by President Leo A. Crandall, stake president. Sessions will be held Saturday Satur-day for MIA and missionaries of the stake and those in charge of these two groups. General sessions will be Sunday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Visitors are welcome. Leslie T. Norton of the LDS Church missionary committee, Stanford W. Bird and Betty Jo C. Reiser of the Mutual Improvement Im-provement Associations, will represent the church authorities authori-ties at the conference. Elder Norton, a graduate of Brigham Young University, is chief job analyst at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden. He also has served the church as a missionary mission-ary to Great Britain. The Priesthood Missionary Committee has jurisdiction over the 12,000 volunteers who are serving full-time missions in various parts of the free world. The MIA organizations are responsible re-sponsible for the week-day religious, re-ligious, social, and cultural activities ac-tivities of the youth. Elder Bird served a mission in New Zealand. He was a member of the stake presidency of the first stake organized in New Zealand. He was a counselor coun-selor in the British Mission and has been on the Los Angeles Council of Boy Scouts for 20 years. " Mrs. Reiser has been very active ac-tive in the Relief Society, serving serv-ing as both ward and stake president. She graduated from University of Utah and the LDS Hospital School of Nursing. |
