Show (o!ob Stake presents awards o two outstanding workers I (special recognition for their ''hievements in church work d related activities were giv-H$i giv-H$i to Welby Warren, former 1 V" n JS LmL : Hi' -ifii-MM- Welby Warren, honorary Master M Men recipient bishop of the Map'eton Ward and Alta Taylor, former stake YWMIA president at an honor night of the M Men and Gleaners Glean-ers of Kolob Stake Sunday night. Mr. Warren was presented present-ed with the honorary M Men Award and Mrs. Taylor received re-ceived the honorary Golden Gleaner Award presented by Bryan Burt and Nedra Snelson of the stake M Men and Glean-re Glean-re committee. Welby Warren Mr. Warren was born in Map'eton Ma-p'eton 58 years ago and following follow-ing his schooling, he married Mable Dibble. They have raised six children. He has been active in the church as well as in the city serving both, in many capacities. ca-pacities. He worked in the ward as member of the MIA superin-tendency, superin-tendency, president of the elders el-ders quorum, member of the bishopric and later, bishop of the Marileton Ward. In more 'Fi ; ica-.lta Taylor, given her hon-p hon-p rary Golden Gleaner Award recent years he has filled the assignment of a member of the YMMIA superintendency, high councilman, advisor to the YWMIA, which position he is currently filling, stake committee commit-tee member of Aaronic Priesthood Priest-hood for adults. In a civic capacity, he filled the position of village blacksmith black-smith was elected to the city council and also served as mayor may-or of Mapleton. He is employed at present by the Thorn Construction Con-struction Co. Mr. Warren is adept at writing writ-ing poetry and has entertained many church groups with his poetic talent. He has participated partici-pated in dramatic and musical productions in his church activity. ac-tivity. Alta Taylor Mrs. Alta Losee Taylor, born May 15, 1917, at Tooele, and then later moving to Santaquin where she went to grade and junior high school and then later la-ter graduated from the Payson High School. She moved to Springville in 1939. She is married mar-ried to Alvin R. Taylor and they have one daughter, Barbara Bar-bara Murdoch. Her church work includes work director in the ward Relief Re-lief Society as well as social science leader. She has served as counselor and then later as president of the First Ward Relief Society. She served 16 years in the YWMIA. She served serv-ed as Beehive and Mia Maid leader, first counselor in the presidency of the ward, stake Mia Maid leader and then as stake YWMIA president. She taught Primary and Junior Sunday School and has filled a stake mission. At present pres-ent she is social science leader in the Firt Ward Relief Society. She was an instigator of the YWMIA girls' camp area in Kelly's Grove during her term as stake president of the MIA.
