Show Art membership drive ends with ball, prizes LaVar Cloward, manager of the IGA Foodliner, won the sweepstakes drawing at the art ball last Saturday night in the Art Gallery and was presented an all expense paid trip to the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts and a day at Disneyland. Mr. Cloward with his wife will be flown to the festival via Western Air Lines who participated partici-pated in the grand prize event. Eight first prizes were also given during the drawing at the ball with Springville Jay-reps Jay-reps winnino- tip PnnI clnliQhnr7 1 painting, "Slopes of Deer Creek". Florence E. Ware, noted artist art-ist who yearly exhibits in the national April art show, was the winner of a Hughes Curtis statuary. Mason Merrill also won a Hughes Curtis statuary. Wayne DuBois was the winner win-ner of the William Bird painting paint-ing while Emma C. Payzant won the R. W. Davidson painting. paint-ing. Hal M. Clyde claimed the ticket for the Glen Turner work with Alton Packard getting the Rell Francis painting. Bryce Thorn received the Calvin Packard Pac-kard painting and Zola Gogarty won the Stanley Burningham canvas. Jack Allen, who did a commendable com-mendable job in directing the first annual Springville Fine Arts sweepstakes event, stated that approximately $7,000 was co'lected on the membership drive which represents approximately approx-imately 400 members.
