Show Cisco spawning should start ' Based on past records, the annual spawning run of Bonneville Bonne-ville cisco in Bear Lake should be getting underway within the next two weeks. The earliest recorded date for the start of the spawning run was January 9, 1962; the latest date has been January 19 in 1963 and 1964. If the trend continues the biggest problem the dipnetters have will be in keeping a count of fish they catch. Department of Fish and Game records show more arrests are made for ov-erlimits ov-erlimits of cisco than any other violation during the Cisco run. When cisco move into shore i to spawn, they are easily j caught and those fishing have j been lax in keeping count of their fish and Department of Fish and Game officers have issued a number of citations for overlimits. Dip nets used may not have an opening greater than 18 inches in any dimension and netters should be sure their equipment is stout. Conditions often become rough with slush ice or floating chunks of ice in the water. |
