Show I Springville Stake hoop games loom as thriliers tonight Springville Stake M Men games will continue tonight in their next to last evening of play. Final games, unless there is need for a playoff, will be on January 26, announces Ray Miller, assistant supevisor. Tonight the slate of games promises plenty of action. Fourth which is currently leading lead-ing the league and can do no less than tie for the title should they lose their next two games, meets the Fifth Ward in the 7 p.m. contest. At 8, Tenth returning from a mission, came up strong to down Fifth, 53-35. Russ Williams with 13 and Ron McArthur with 12 led the winners. win-ners. Steven Strong dunked 14 for the losers. Standings: Ward W L Fourth 7 1 Tenth 5 3 Third 5 3 Fifth 4 4 Eighth 4 4 Seventh 0 8 plays Seventh followed by the Third vs Eighth. The Third has dropped their last three contests con-tests in extra period thrillers and will likely find tough going against Eighth. Week's results The Thursday's results gave Eighth a 47-43 victory over Seventh. For Eighth, Senior hit the double figure of 10 points with practically all other teammates team-mates getting between 7 and 9 points each. Jay Jensen hit 10 and Bob Liddiard was high with 12. In an overtime, Third succumbed suc-cumbed to Fifth 63-61. Steven Sumsion with 25 and Steven Strong with 17 led the winners. Val Christensen with 22 led the losers. In another overtime thriller, Fourth emerged with a 5 point spread over Tenth, 49-44. Scoring Scor-ing for the winners was well divided but Boyd Hansen with 12 and Terry Kilpack and Kent Tipton each with 11, led the Fourth Warders. Tom Alvey and Bill Allred counted 14 and and 12 points respectively for Tenth. In make-up games played Saturday, Third again lost in an over time game; this time to Tenth, 64-63. Alvey and Allred All-red hit 19 each and Roe Allman got 16 for the winners. Gordon Nielson with 17, Ted Murray with 15 and Val Christensen with 14 were high scorers for Third. Fourth won over Seventh, 43-39 behind the output of Bill Willis with 14 and Kent Tipton's Tip-ton's 9. Jay Jensen came up with 25 for Seventh.
