Show Growers urged to file for 1965 payments Growers were urged today to file their applications for 1965 marketing year payments under the National Wool Act at the earliest possible date but at least by the end of January. The applications cover cov-er marketing of wool, lambs, and mohair during the calendar year 1965 for which all sales details were completed not later la-ter than December 31. The payments represent the amounts necessary to bring the national average prices received re-ceived by growers up to the previously announced incentive levels under the National Wool Act. The levels for 1965 are 62 cents a pound for shorn wool and 72 cents a pound for mohair; the incentive price for pulled wool will be at a level comparable to that for shorn wool. Since payments under the program are based on the national na-tional average prices for marketings mar-ketings during the entire year, it is important that sales reports re-ports be as complete as possible pos-sible before the average price determinations are made. That is why ASCS is stressing application ap-plication filings before January Janu-ary 31. Payments for the 1965 marketing mar-keting year are scheduled to begin in April of 1966. Marketings Market-ings completed after December 31, 1965, are considered as 1966 marketings and therefore will not be eligible for payments pay-ments until early 1967. Price-support loans based on $1.25 per bushel national average av-erage are available for farmers farm-ers who sign up and participate partici-pate in the 1966 Voluntary Wheat Program, announc e d Claude Hunting, Chairman, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee. Commit-tee. The signup period begins January 31. Mr. Hunting said the program pro-gram makes the loans available for all wheat produced on participating par-ticipating farms except excess wheat produced on a farm on which the overplanting 'provision 'pro-vision is used.
