Pri-mary. She was a sixth grade student at Jefferson School. Eric Hunter Crandall was , born March 19, 1956 in Provo. A member of the LDS Church, he was a Blazer in Primary and a Cub Scout. He was in the fourth grade at Jefferson School. Julie and Eric are survived by their mother of Springville; four sisters, Mrs. Lynn (Mel-anie) (Mel-anie) Satterwaite, Christine, Linda and Lisa Crandall, all of Springville; and two grandmothers, grandmo-thers, Mrs. Sylvia Crandall of Springville and Mrs. Vera Hunter of Provo. Funeral services for Ruel E. Crandall, 45, prominent stockman, stock-man, church and civic worker and two children, Julie 12 and Eric, 9, who lost their lives in a tragic truck-train accident Monday, January 24 1966, are being held today, Thursday at 1 p.m., in the First-Twelfth Ward, under direction of Bishop Bish-op Don Watts. Friends may call at Wheeler Mortuary before the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. The accident occured at the railroad crossing at Fourth North and Fourth West, as Mr. Crandall, accompanied by the two children were traveling to the west fields to feed cattle. cat-tle. The freight train hit the truck broadside. Mr. Carndall was born Oct. 19, 1920 in Springville, a son of F. Vern and Sylvia Hansen Crandall. He married Leah Hunter, Nov. 21, 1944, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Crandall served an LDS mission in the Texas-Louisiana area in 1941-43. He served as ward clerk and bishop of the Springville Second Ward, and later bishop of the 12th Ward. He was a high councilman in Kolob Stake and at the time of his death was first counselor in Kolob Stake presidency. He was also high council representative repre-sentative for the Springville-Kolob Springville-Kolob welfare farm. He served a term as Springville Spring-ville City Councilman, was a director of the Springville Irrigation Ir-rigation Board, the Big Hollow Irrigation Company, and the Farmers Home Administration. He had been secretary of the Springville Livestock Association, Associa-tion, and a member of the Utah Livestock Association. He had followed farming and ranching for many years, associated as-sociated with his father and brother, LaMar. The victim's father died just a year ago, Jan. 20, 1965. He is survived by his wife; four children, Mrs. Lynn (Mel-anie) (Mel-anie) Satterthwaite, Christine, Linda and Lisa Crandall, all of Springville; his mother; and six brothers and sisters: Bliss Crandall of Provo; LaMar Crandall, Mrs. Leonard (Hor-tense) (Hor-tense) Harward, and Mrs. Waldo Wal-do (Elaine) Jackson, all of Springville; Mrs. Neil (Loeen) Whiting of Mapleton; and Mrs. William (Carma) Martin of Baltimore, Md.
