Show Thomas Snelson honored on 80th birthday Thomas Lennial Snels o n, Springville native and longtime long-time resident of Payson. observed ob-served his eightieth birthday Wednesday with a ' family dinner din-ner at Sage Inn on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Snelson moved to Springville two years ago and presently reside at 80 W. 100 North. A retired railroad man, Mr. ; ... 1 i . i S .. : V 11 Li Li Snelson was born here Jan. 26, 1886 the son of Thomas L. and Laurette Roundy Snelson. He attended schools here and during his early manhood he worked on railroad construction construc-tion in Nevada, Colorado and Idaho. Later in his life, he was hoisting engineer in the Colorado Colo-rado Mine for eight years. Following Fol-lowing this, he went to work for the Salt Lake and Utah Railroad and was motorman for 32 years until the railroad was discontinued. He spent most of his married life in Payson, where he was active in church serving as secretary of the seventy quorum quor-um and also the high priest quorum. He filled the position of stake ward teacher supervisor super-visor and is currently a home teacher in the Third Ward. He married Chloe Tulley on Oct. 10, 1906 and to them were born two children, Ronald (now deceased) and Mrs. J. S. (Nel-da) (Nel-da) Reese of Washington, D.C. Mrs Snelson died in 1915. He married Margaret Jane Taylor, Sept. 14, 1916. To them were born four children, Homer, (deceased), (de-ceased), Mrs. Rodney (Ruby) Felt, Kaysville; W. L., and Mrs. Blaine (Melba) Wheeler, of this city. The Snelsons have 23 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. All the family except Mrs. Reese were in attendance at the birthday celebration. j Thomas L. Snelson |
