Show Alpha Beta Club at opening program An appropriate setting for the opening social Friday of the Alpha Beta Club, was provided pro-vided at Myron Childs ranch in Diamond Fork Canyon. The surrounding hills in their brilliant bril-liant fall dress added to the atmosphere at-mosphere of the occasion, while the speaker, Edward Wiscombe of BYU described the Central Utah water p roject, the location loca-tion of which will include the ranch area. Mrs. Myron Childs and the club president, Mrs. Thomas Smith were hostesses for the delightful afternoon which began be-gan with a sumptous ranch dinner featuring chicken and sour dough bread. Mrs. Sheldon Nielson was welcomed as a new member and Mrs. Kenneth Condie and Mrs. Ted Johnson as special guests. In connection with his talk, Mr. Wiscombe showed slides of the proposed water storage project and dam for which funds are already appropriated. Mrs. Childs, program chairman, chair-man, distributed the club books and commented briefly on the proposed program for the year. Twenty club members and guests attended the program-social. |
