Show A Tasty Salad Makes The Meal This handsome molded salad will add zest and eye appeal to steak, chops, or meat roasts. Using lime flavor gelatin as the base, it teams the marvelous-tasting avocado with tomatoes and seasonings. Here's a salad with a truly lively flavor that complements almost al-most any meat. Molded Guacamole Salad 1 package (3 oz.) lime 3 tablespoons lemon juice flavor gelatin iy2 teaspoons grated onion 3t teaspoon salt 4 or 5 drops Tabasco sauce Yi teaspoon chili powder 1 avocado, mashed until 1 cup boiling water smooth cup cold water 1 cup diced tomato, drained Dissolve gelatin, salt, and chili powder in boiling water. Add cold water, lemon juice, grated onion, and Tabasco sauce. Chill until slightly thickened: Then place bowl of gelatin in ice and water and whip until fluffy and thick. Fold in avocado and tomato. Pour into 1-quart ring mold. Chill until firm. Unmold and garnish with salad greens. Serve with mayonnaise. Makes 6 to 8 servings. |
