Show Santa Clara plays BYU two games this weekend; Ohio at Y Dec. 22 Brigham Young's Cougars must rebound this week if they are to hold the hard-earned ground they gained thus far in the early basketball season after af-ter dropping two in a row to the nation's most highly rated cage team, Wichita. The two setbacks were entirely unexpected, unex-pected, but neither was the wide margin of victory. Friday and Saturday nights, Dec. 18 and 19, the Cougars will go all out to regain their prestige against the Santa Clara Broncos. Game time each night will be at 8 p.m. Coach Stan Watts may be justified in nailing a "Rebound!" "Re-bound!" sign in the Cougar lockerroom because rebounding was an important factor in the losses at Wichita. BYU was held to a total of 35 takedowns in the first game (only six came off the offensive offen-sive boards), but showed much better in that department in the second contest. While the weekend in Wichita Wich-ita can be chalked off as a learning experience against a better club, thoughts must now be turned to Santa Clara of the West Coast Conference. Coach Dick Garibaldi of thi Broncos is building his offensi around guard Eric Paulson, i six-footer who has all the ma kings of an outstanding cour man. Working with Paulson on thi guard line will be Mike Gerva soni, shortest man on the clul at five-nine, who set a schoo scoring record last year as i freshman with 498 points. The Broncos have lost twc games thus far, 69-60 to Stan-ford Stan-ford and 69-65 to San Francisco Francis-co State. The low scores maj indicate the Broncs are set tc apply some Bay Area defenst to the Cougars' fast-break. BYU's offensive d i p p e c measurably following the twr games with Wichita, but remains re-mains a respectable 84.5 points per game. This is still the fastest fast-est start the Cougars have ever had. The Cougars will meet the Ohio State cagers on Tuesday Dec. 22, in the Y Fieldhouse prior to competing in the All-College All-College Tournament at Oklahoma Okla-homa City, Dec. 28, 29 and 30 Christmas is essentially a religious re-ligious holiday, so church activities ac-tivities should be an important part of the holiday planning, The homemaker who enter-taiins enter-taiins during the holidays car plan ahead and prepare foods which will require little last minute attention.
