Show Provo hosts Devils in cage season opener well as being able to gain positioning po-sitioning on the taller Ogder club. While Bird came up with 23 points, his defensive work left something to be desired as did that of most of the other Red Devil players. Tipoff will be at 8 p.m. preceded by the junior varsity contest at 6:15. The Bulldogs have wor three of their five contests winning over the Alumni, East and Logan while dropping c close one to Skyliine and a decisive de-cisive one to Highland. Springville, on the other hand, has been unable to post a victory with an A school tc date, although they did wir over South Summit. However, when these two schools line up regardless of which floor, a real battle ensues. Springville has the material to field a winning win-ning combination and should be playing better ball than they have exhibited to date. Friday's frame should find them primed co bring out the best that is in them. The junior varsity team will play a preliminary to the main game beginning at 6:15 p.m. Love two Friday night in their game with Ogden Tigers, the Red Devils started out the contest as if they were playing tiddel-de-winks. The Ogden team was hotter than a fire cracker, on the other hand and swept the Devils off their feet in racking up a 51-25 halftime lead. Thanks to Coach Jensen's pep talk at the half, the Devils came out fighting and for the rest of the game, acted and played like a real team. They outscored the winners in the second half despite losing 92-72 92-72 in a high-scoring battle. All-red All-red and Taylor looked best for the Devils with their ball rustling rust-ling and working the boards as |
