Show DUP camps hold December meets Christmas programs and socials so-cials featured Daughters of Utah Pioneers Camp meetings the past week as follows: Camp Cottonwood The Christmas program for Camp Cottonwood members was held at the home of Mrs Grace Martindale. Mrs. Mar- garet Snelson gave the historj of her great grandmother, Mrs Elizabeth Harris Howell anc Mrs. Eva Johnson gave the lesson les-son on the life of Brigharr Young and the Beehive House The group sang Christmas carols, led by Mrs. Emma Long with Mrs. Martindale accompanist. accom-panist. Two pioneer history books "Our Pioneer Heritage," were awarded as attendance prizes to Mrs. Naomi Johnson and .Mrs Violet Barney. Christmas gift exchange anc nicely arranged refreshments concluded the delightful afternoon. after-noon. Emma Long was assisting assist-ing hostess. Camp S prin gville Camp Springville DUP held their Christmas program at the home of Mrs. Fay Hancock The lesson "That They May Live" was presented by Mrs. Florence Ekker and a Christmas Christ-mas story "The Littlest Angel," was by Donna Baker. At the close of the program, Christmas gifts were exchanged exchang-ed among those present and a nicely arranged lunch was served by the hostesses. Mrs. Hancock was assisted by Mrs. Loen Palfreyman, co-hostess. Captain Shirley Nielson presided pre-sided at the meeting. Camp Locust Grove A Christmas program entertained enter-tained members of the Camp Locust Grove at the December meeting, at the home of Mrs. Luella Wilson. Mrs. Melva Smith was co-hostess. The December lesson, "That They May Live Again," was presented by Mrs. Barbara Hendricksen and a Christmas story was given by Mrs. Gertrude Ger-trude Clements. Climaxing the afternoon, was a gift exchange among camp members and refreshm e n t s were served by the hosteses. Mrs. Rose Nielson presided during the program and announced an-nounced that the next meeting, the second Thursday in January, Janu-ary, will be at the home of Barbara Hendricksen. Camp Kolob Members of Camp Kolob, met, at the home of Florence Boyer for their December meeting. meet-ing. Captain Mable Brown presided pre-sided and conducted. The group opened the meeting meet-ing by singing two Christmas songs, "Silent Night" and "The Cradle Song." Joyce Boyer entertained en-tertained with a Christmas story, and Flora Maiben gave a reading. Vicky Vincent and Jan Burningham played two piano duets, "Winter Wonderland" Wonder-land" and "Over Hill and Dale." The December lesson was on polygamy and was given by Flossie Sanford, who made it more interesting by telling incidents in-cidents from pioneer history. Refreshments were served to 15 membres and four guests by hostesses Florence Boyer and Rhoda Huff. Gifts were exchanged to conclude the social so-cial afternoon. |
