J23C i COMMENT BY KEN METCALF COOPERATION It is amazing to me as I know it must be to you to realize the ', cooperation existing in Nature; cattle are -...n.im.n.11 nui imn not comfort- able when in- ' f sects feed on their backs- j birds nave a i , p ; feast; wind ' - . is our air- ', conditioner - , ' without it we 1 , y ' wouldn't be ' able to have 1 rain, snow or , f I food; rivers of cold water flow from Arctic zones, bring micro-organisms to warmer waters and we have tuna salad; when the temperature zones were tropic, lush plants grew, died, and we have coal, petroleum and gas; fresh pure water is becoming scarce; but through science, engenuity and capital man is converting brackish brack-ish salt water to fresh pure water. We see cooperation between teachers and pupils, nurse, doctor doc-tor and patients, pharmacists and all of nature but the cooperation that amazes me most is the cooperation co-operation between neighbors; a disaster destroys a home of a I family. Neighbors mobilize to i provide housing, clothing and ' food. Illness strikes an older man; ! he is unable to care for his lawn, flowers and garden; neighbors neigh-bors take over. Tragedy strikes previous to a Golden Wedding Anniversary; neighbors provide ! a medicine that cannot be bought sincere friendship. Thomas Butts said: "Everything that lives, lives not alone."
