Show Guard queen contest, military ball planned sewing, modeling, art or other demonstration may be exhibited exhibit-ed by the queen contestants. 1 The National Guard is still receiving applications, for the annual Queen contest, which is to be conducted Saturday, January Jan-uary 25, beginning at 2:30 p.m., at the junior high school. The queen will be crowned and her attendants honored at the annual military ball, Saturday Sat-urday evening at the armory. Lynn Boyer is chairman of the queen contest, assisted by David Pennington and Gerald Carter is in charge of arrangements, arrange-ments, for the dance. Applications Single girls, who will be at least 18 years of age by next September, and who have a talent, tal-ent, are invited to enter the contest. The Springville winner win-ner goes to Salt Lake City, where she competes with queens from all over the state and the state winner partici- pates in the Miss Utah Contest Con-test and has an opportunity to attend the Miss Cherry Blossom Blos-som Festival in Washington, D. C. The contest will not only name a queen but also her two attendants. Contestants will be judged on appearance, talent and personality. person-ality.
