Show CHIRPING EGGS DELIGHT KIDS Chirping could be heard on the grounds of the Utah School for the Blind in Og-den Og-den recently, but the sounds weren't coming from birds in the area. Instead, they were emanating from electronic elec-tronic Easter Eggs that were part of a special Easter Egg hunt for students at school. About 60 blind children participated. Eggs were hid-'den, hid-'den, some in the lower branches of trees. The children chil-dren hunted the eggs purely on the basis of sound, and were very successful. An activity like this shows just how developed the sense of hearing is in these children, child-ren, said Virgil Cutler, of Utah Telephone Pioneers. Spectators on hand agreed even more so, after some of them were blindfolded and then attempted to find the eggs with very little success. suc-cess. The eggs were made of pantyhose containers with a small transistor device inside. in-side. This year's hunt was rated rat-ed a complete success. |
