By TerryMadsen The not -so-hot shootingof Seldom Sheldon Roberts and Huffy-Puffy Bob Puffer overcame the pale passes and wobbly dribbles of Tall Paul Nielsen and Slim Jim Morgan. The Razzle-dazzle of Gall Van Tassell frizzled, friz-zled, but no one was disappointed dis-appointed with the 29-22 win (I use the term loosely) by the ward Bishoprics over the Beaver Stake High Council last Thursday night In the BHS new gym. The well-attended well-attended game was the highlight high-light of a Stake effort to encourage en-courage physical fitness among it's IDS members. The High Council warmed up in gym shorts and neat white shirts and ties, and called meetings instead of huddles. They were cheered cheer-ed on by an enthusiastic crowd of unbiased wives, waving the team's appropriate approp-riate colors black and blue. Equally noisy families fam-ilies of the Bishoprics waved wav-ed red socks in the air to the inspiring cheers of "Sock it to 'em!!" Halftime activities included in-cluded skilled demonstrations demonstra-tions of different types of physical fitness for both fam -illes and individuals. The Dr. Noal Robinson family, decked out in matching warm-up suits, jogged together to-gether around the gym . Weight-lifting, calisthenics, and arm wrestling techniques techni-ques were shown, followed by a two -on -two basketball clash between Phyllis Yard-ley, Yard-ley, Judy Erickson, Terry Madsen and Janice Sullivan. After all the laughing and panting were over, it was clear that we can all stand to be more physically fit, so don't be surprized to find the Real McCoy Williams jogging to and from his tractor, trac-tor, or Wailing Ron Gale skipping rope around his patrol pa-trol car. |
