Show Gomm. to puff foneo Iql'j on ballof Sheriff Nelson met with the Board and discussed the problem of stray animals and the Beaver County Fence Law. Beaver County and Beaver City will work together to-gether on the stray animal matter and the community corral will be repaired and the animals kept there until claimed by the owner or sold by the sheriff. In the mat- ter of the fence law and after af-ter some discussion, it was moved by Comm. Roberts, seconded by Comm. Johnson and unanimously passed that the County Attorney proceed with the necessary steps to do away with the fence law in Beaver County. For removal re-moval of the fence law, it will have to be placed on the ballot for consideration by the people and if approved will place the responsibility on the animal owners to fence their animals in or pay for damages caused by tresspassing tresspas-sing animals, instead of making property owners fence their property to keep the animals out. Richard Hollingshead of Equitable Insurance Co. met with the Board and Mayor Christiansen of Beaver City being present and again discussed dis-cussed Group Health Insurance In-surance for Beaver City and Beaver County combined. A meeting was set up for Saturday, Sat-urday, Feb. 11, with City and County employees to consider con-sider changing insurance companies. Meeting to be held at the courthouse at 9:00 a.m. Jade LeBlanc and Richard Garret met with the Board and presented a chart and explanation ex-planation on the breakdown of the level of services being be-ing received by the citizens of Beaver County. This being the time set to open bids for one 1978 pickup pick-up for the sheriffs department depart-ment and seven bids were received re-ceived and opened and found to be as follows: Parkway Ford, Cedar City -F -100, $4823.00, non -leaded gas. F-150, F-150, $5003.00, leaded gas. No dlesel engine bid. Howard and Gwen plan to remain in MinersviUe, and will remain involved In community com-munity and county affairs. Howard is in his second year on the Beaver County Commission, serving as chairman. He previously served on the commission 12 years ago. Asked what he intended to do, Howard said, "I've got to keep busy! Maybe 111 open a small engine repair service. And I love to chase that little white ball around the golf course." For the rest of this year at least, (he's up for reelection) re-election) he will be kept busy with his duties as chairman of the county commission. |
