Show Missionaries called -return IVIIOOIWIIW Elder Kelly W. Bradshaw which include Preisthood organist or-ganist for 7 years, assistan to the Bishop in the Priest Quorum and he received the 'Duty to God' award in the Beaver 1st Ward. Elder Lowe, with other members of his family, participated par-ticipated in the Sacrament meeting service Sunday, Jan. 29th, in the Beaver 1st Ward. i w - Elder Michael T. Henrie son of Bishop and Mrs. Terry Ter-ry E. Henrie has been called call-ed to the OhioColumbusMis-sion OhioColumbusMis-sion of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Michael was a graduate of Beaver High School last spring. He participated in various activities during his school years. He graduated from the LDS Seminary in 1977. Elder Henrie held positions posi-tions of leadership in his ward priesthood quorums and young peoples organizations. organ-izations. The Henrie family, with Michael, as the main speaker speak-er provided the service at the ward sacrament meeting on Jan. 22. He entered the mission home on February Feb-ruary 4 and will leave for Columbus on Feb. 9. Elder Kelly W. Most of his mis. sion was spent in the city of Nagoya. It had a popula. tion of 4-12 million living in the same area as Salt Lake. The smallest city ne was in was the same size as Beaver but with 80,000 people. His Mission Presl. dent was Kenji Tanaka who was. the first Stake President in the Asian Countries. He enjoyed living in Japan and learned a lot about the cul. ture of the Japanese people, , He also developed a great love for this race of people, I f ' HI f s" ELDeTjAMES HASLEM Elder James (Jim) L. Has-lem, Has-lem, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Haslem, has been called call-ed to serve in the Georgia Alanta Mission. Jim is a 1977 Beaver High School graduate where he was active in band, football, wrestling, track and graduated graduat-ed from the released time LDS Seminary Program. After Af-ter graduation Jim spent four . months at the Fort Jackson military base in South Carolina, Caro-lina, receving basic training in the National Guard Program. Pro-gram. He attended SUSC at Cedar this fall beginning a major in Industrial Arts with an emphasis in Business. Jim has been active in the church having served in various var-ious offices in his priesthood priest-hood quorums and young peo -les organizations. He received re-ceived the "Duty to God" award in the Beaver Second Ward. Elder Haslem will be the primary speaker in the Beaver Bea-ver Second Ward Sacrament Meeting Feb. 19th, prior to departure for the LDS Mission Mis-sion Home March 4, 1978. i, . ; s ' -1 ELDER STEVEN CRAW Elder Steven Craw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Craw, of Minersville has been called call-ed to the Arcadia California Mission. He will enter the mission home on March 11, 1978. He will be the special speaker at Sacrament meeting meet-ing February 26. Steven participated in sports and other activities in high school. He was a member of the football team for three years and member mem-ber and officer in the Future Fu-ture Farmers of America. He attended SUSC prior to receiving his call. ELDER KELLY BRADSHAW He really enjoyed the food, especially the rice and raw fish (it is a great diet food) He wishes to thank the peo. pie of the Beaver Stake for their prayer's and support, especially those who wrote en. couraging letters often. He, like many others, can say, "This was the greatest two years Qf my life!" Elder Bradshaw served as financial secretary of the Mission for several months. He also was a district and zone leader. ELDER BLAIR OS BORN Elder Blair Osborn returned re-turned in November from the Virginia Roanoke Mission where he spent two years as missionary for the LDS Church. Blair is the son of J. D. and GlennaM. Osborn. Os-born. He served in many capacities during his mission. mis-sion. His first assignment was that of a Elder who trained train-ed other missionaries, then as a district leader, zone leader and for seven months as an assistant to the mission mis-sion president. Elder Osborn made the following comments: "During "Dur-ing my two years I worked in six different areas, each have wonderful memories and spiritual experiences. I grew to love the Virginian's and the southern hospitality. Because of my calling I had the opportunity to travel throughout my mission boundaries. boun-daries. I saw many historical histor-ical places such as Kitty Hawk Thomas Jefferson's home St. John's Church where Patrick Henrey said, "give me liberty of give me death." I grew in Testimony and realized the importance of living the gospel. Through the support of my parents, family and friends, I had a successful mission." ' - ' r"' - - ELDER STEVE LOWE Elder Steven Lowe has been called to serve in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. He is the son of Merril and Mary Lowe, He will enter the Mission Home in Salt Lake on February 11, 1978. Steve is a Beaver High graduate of the class of '77. Steve participated in sport activities in high school receiving re-ceiving regional and state basketball honors during his senior year. He also graduated grad-uated from the LDS Seminary. He attended the fall quarter at SUSC in Cedar City. Elder El-der Lowe has participated in various church assignments, |
