Show Modern dance to be nresented at MHS The seventh and eighth grade girls of Milford High School will present an evening even-ing of modern dance on Thursday, February 16, at 8:00 p.m. in the school audi -trium. The dance production is under the direction of Miss Gem Mercer. It is the culmination of a unit in creative crea-tive dance that has been studied stud-ied in Miss Mercer's 7th and 8th grade girl's P.E. class. Modern dance, or creative dance, as it is often called is the study of self-expression through movement. The girls have learned to move to moods and feelings, and to work together in the creative crea-tive process. The production contains nine dances which include all members of the P.E. class. The dances were composed com-posed by the individual members mem-bers of each dance, and are set around the theme that dance is timeless. Dances range from a primitive number num-ber done to the beat of a timpani, to an up-to-date disco composition. They cordially invite all members of the community to attend. Tickets are available avail-able through any production member or at the door. Proceeds Pro-ceeds will go to the girls P.E. program. |
