Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gillin3 went in Salt Lake Tuesday to spend a few days visiting and shoopping. Mr. and Mrs. Daisel Davis and 'family left Monday evening for Payson, Provo and Salt Lake. They will have eye care, visit, and shop while there. THI WEEK IN j MINERSVILLE By MARYBELLE EYRE Several members of ihe Minersville TV Committee mei Monday mgni vith the Town Board and made arrangements ar-rangements for the Town Clerk to collect TV donations along with water bills. At a recent TV meeting it was agreed that donations of $1 a month would be asked to be used for maintenance of the TV relay station. The Minersville Literary club held their annual canyon party Wednesday evening. Due to the. stormy weather it was necessary to hold the party in the Minersville Miners-ville town hall. Fifteen members mem-bers and their partners, and a guest, Mrs. Orilla Hammond of Pioche, enjoyed the bounteous lunch topped off with watermelon. water-melon. Mrs. Eleanor Marshall and Mrs. Bonnie Myers were hostesses, and led the crowd in fun games after the feast. A shower honoring bride to be Miss Lorna Harris was held at the home of Maurine Myers, with Shirleen Davis as co-hostess, Saturday night. Burn the House Down- was played and prizes were won by Marybelle Eyre and Lou Kelsey. After the games a plate lunch was served to 20 guests, and Miss Harris opened her many beautiful presents. pres-ents. A farewell testimonial was held Sunday night for Goldie Adams, who will enter the mission mis-sion home Sept. 4 prior to leaving leav-ing 'for the Northern States mission. mis-sion. Speakers were Mrs. Etta Rollins, Goldie Adams, Bishop Marshall Hollingshead, President Presi-dent Wallace D. Yardley and Karl Truman. Mrs. Alveretta Robinson and Mrs. Ilene Jameson Jame-son sang a duet, and David Williams Wil-liams sang a solo. Mr. and Mrs. Garold Eyre and family enjoyed Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Murdock of Beaver. They spent the day at Cedar Breaks and Navajo Lake, and returned by way of Panguitch. A large crowd of Minersville residents spent the week end in Ely, enjoying the horse races. Mrs. Orrilla Hammond and son Kent of Pioche returned home Friday, after spending a week with her sister and family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Gray. The Minersville Ward High Priests and their wives held an outing at Hanging Rock Saturday Satur-day night. Committee members Mr, md Mrs. Floyd Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Jule Gillins and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jameson served a delicious banquet to 30 persons. per-sons. After the feast an entertaining enter-taining program was enjoyed around the campf ire. George Erickson of Los Angeles An-geles was here over the week end attending to business and inspecting the work on his newly remodeled house. Mr. ad Mrs. Jim Craw have moved into the Albert Potter tome. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Robinson Robin-son left Sunday for Jackson Hole, Wyo., to visit their children, chil-dren, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schwab and Mr. and Mrs. George Robinson. Mrs. Flossie Adams and boys' and Mrs.. Raynola Fowler. Ponderosa Park in the Beaver Beav-er Canyon was the scene of a Corbridge family gathering on Sunday afternoon. Sunday School Stake meeting was held Sunday afternoon in the Minersville Ward Chapel. Gertrude Marshall is employed em-ployed at the Carter Grocery Store while Mr. and Mrs. Guy Carter are on their vacation. They plan to visit their children in Stockton, -parts of Colorado, and in Monticello before returning re-turning to Minersville. Mrs. Bill Edwards and family of Stockton visited over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Neil Gressman. A committee for soliciting i blood donors met at the homa of Mrs. Gertrude Marshall on Thursday evening of last week. Mrs. Marshall is the chairman and committee members are Mrs. Wilma Davis, Mrs. Elma Blackburn, Mrs. Helen Davis, iand Mrs. Shisley Hollingshead.
