Show COUNTY 4-H CLUBS END ANNUAL CAMP AT RENTS LAKE August 14 to 16 was quite exciting for most members of Beaver County 4-H Clubs who attended the three-day encampment. encamp-ment. Camp officers elected were: Penny Patterson, Minersville, mayor; Marilyn Moore, Milford, secretary, and Mary Yardley, Beaver camp scribe. Committees chosen included: Program Connie Marshall, Milford, chairman; Betty Wood, Minersville; Blanche Yardley, Beaver; clean camp Gayle Truman, Minersville, chairman; Kaye Tolley, Milford; Jeannie Smith, Beaver. Recreation Jean Eyre, Minersville; chairman; chair-man; Marsha Smith, Milford, Linda Smith, Beaver. Flag-raising Flag-raising Linda Johnson, Milford, Mil-ford, chairman; Marilyn Wood, Minersville, Susan Cartwright, Beaver; Camp fire: Russel Mayer, Milford, chairman; Scott Pearson, Pear-son, Minersville; Rowland Yard-ley, Yard-ley, Beaver. Log sawing: Arlan Marshall, Milford, chairman; Billy Garrett, Minersville; Jill Smith, Beaver. At the camp fire, Rema Limb gave the invocation and group singing was led by LaNae Dalton, after which the new officers of-ficers were introduced. Special numbers were songs by LaNae Dalton and Jean Eyre, accordian solo by Roseland Farnsworth, and a report of a 4-H trip to -' Chicago by Jennie Sue Smith. Glenn Baird, state 4-H leader lead-er from Logan, was introduced. On the 15th a chuckwagon breakfast was served at Upper j Kents. Belts and other handicraft handi-craft articles were made during dur-ing the afternoon. A special number by Mr. Baird and his family, and skits or songs by the 13 clubs, featured fea-tured the evening program. The candle lighting ceremony was presented by the Cloverette Club of Minersville. At the awards program, nine clubs were recognized for perfect per-fect attendance: Baking Bees, 4-H Queens, -Kitchen Kapers, Punkettes, Presto Cookers, Party Par-ty Dollies, Happy Stitchers, Kitchen Queens and Nutty Needles. Other awards were: Clean camp, Happy Stitchers of Milford; Mil-ford; Food and Fun Club, Minersville; Min-ersville; Cloverettes and Blue Ribbons, Minersville; Program: Blue Ribbon Cookers, Beaver, Food and Fun Club; and Kitchen Kitch-en Kapers and 4-H Queens of Milford, tied for third; Log Sawing Junior Girls: Glenna Davis and Jan Truman; Susan Gillins and Pam Davis; and Jeannie Dotson and Pam Davis. Senior girls: Georgia Smith and Joyce Alger; Connie Marshall and Linda Johnson; Georgia Stapley and Edith Yardley. Junior boys: David Yardley and Pat Yardley; Senior boys, Neil Atkin and Roland Yardley; Russel Mayer and David Mayer |
