Show Hospital Ass'n Names Nine Members to New Executive Board Financial Report Is Released ; New Laundry Equipment Purchased Nine executive board members were elected by the Milford Valley Val-ley Memorial Hospital Association at its1 annual meeting held Feb. 21 in the Milford Community Methodist Meth-odist Church. Selected to serve three year terms were Mrs. LaMar Outzen, Mrs. Harold Cline and John Grim-shaw. Grim-shaw. Two-year members named are Frank Pryor of Minersviile. and Carl Lowe and W. J. Wunder-lich. Wunder-lich. H. L. Tolley and Warren Johnson, Milford, and Dr. John R. Murdock, Beaver, will serve one-year one-year terms. This was the first election under the recently amended articles of incorporation, which were amended amend-ed to provide for three new hoard members to take office each year, and no board member succeeding himself. E. L. Smith, former president of the board, and Mrs. George Jefferson Jef-ferson retired after having served their terms of office. Purchase of a comercial type laundry for the hopsital was announced. an-nounced. Previously, home-type equipment, inefficient and costly to maintain, has been used. Remodeling and enlarging of a laundry room, now in progress, will he completed in March, under direction of W. J. Wunderlich and Paul Prisbrey. Under the comparatively new program of memorial contributions to the building fund, donations have recently been made in memory mem-ory of Harry Martin, Mrs. Carl Lowe, Gene Kirk, Roy Cottreli, Mrs. Joy Brimberry Nielson, and Barney Fotlieringham, totaling $115. A financial report, based on an audit made recently by a certified public accountant, showed assets of $52,368.70, liabilities of $25,-589.31, $25,-589.31, and net worth of $26,779.39. A balance of $18,926.17 is stowed outstanding on the mortgage held by Sylvan Life Insurance Co. The sum of $28,505.77 is due the hospital from medical insurance companies. During 1958 there were 506 admissions ad-missions to the hospital, 486 people released, 159 surgical cases, 341 out-patients served, 41 babies born (20 boys and 21 girls), 11 deaths, and average patient load of 12.51 persons. Average hospital stay was 9.04 days per patient. |
