Members of the Beaver City Council, headed by Mayor Martell Easton, met the caravan south of Beaver and escorted them into town. They were served coffee, doughnuts and milk in the IOOF hall. Major discussion concerned the pending school legislation, with Karl Truman, president of the Board of Education, A. Carlos Murdock and Superintendent Dave Pearce, and H. L. Tolley, County Commission chairman, leading the discussion. Principal school matter brought to the attention of the legislators pertained to proposed emergency school construction of the county Under the construction bill before the House at present, . Beaver County would receive such meager funds that more than 50 yeans would elapse befo"o the needed school construction ofthe county' could be completed. It was emphasized that under the 1955 formula, Beaver County had met all necessary requirements require-ments to participate in ithe emergency emer-gency construction funds, including includ-ing maximum mill levy and maximum maxi-mum bonding of the district, but appropriated funds were used by other districts before Beaver County was considered. A strong plea was made that in fairness to the voters of Beaver County, the 1955 formula be continued con-tinued at least until our school construction needs had been filled.
