Christie Gleave, singles player. Weber's number four won her individual Signpost photoBob George championship as Weber took third place as a team in the conference tournament. Bengals Net Second Straight Tennis Title by Dan Dickson Sports Editor The Idaho State Women's tennis team won its second consecutive Mountain West Athletic Conference tennis championship. By winning six of the nine individual championships, Idaho State racked up 17 points to runaway with the title. Montana State finished second with 32 points and Weber State finished third with 28V2 points. Idaho State won four singles titles and two doubles titles for their six wins. Laura Slade won the number one singles title by defeating Weber State's Anna Gunnarson in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. Gun-narsson finished in second place. Idaho State's Liz Bishop defeated Weber's Jan Sanford to win the number three singles crown 6-2, 6-2, with Sanford also finishing second. Idaho State's Liz Trutanich won the number five singles title by defeating Joanna York of Montana State 6-4, 6-3.
