Show May Go To Selby. Salt Lake Herald. The Grand Gulch Mining company, whose properties are located south of St. George in Arizona, may conclude to ship its product to the Selby smelter, near San Francisco. The management of the company dislikes very much to take such steps, and deprive the local smelters of the business, but with the long overland haul, coupled with the charges made by the railroads, the cost of transportation runs up into pretty stiff figures. The Santa Fe lines are much nearer to the mines, and for that reason Manager Man-ager Jennings believes he can materially mater-ially reduce the cost of placing the Grand Gulch ore on the market by diverting it to the California plant. |
