Show Dixie College Presents Opera Selections A compartively small audience witnessed Wednesday evening's college presentation of "The Caravan", Car-avan", and excerpts from the opera, "Princess Ida", using more than 50 picked singers from the entire college chorus, under the direction of Jos. W. McAllister. Miss Ruth Falck and Miss Ver-Nell Ver-Nell Chamberlain were the accompanists. ac-companists. Rounds of applause greeted soloists, solo-ists, Enid Webb Spafford, Peggy Judd, Jay Huntsman and Duane Bryner. "The Caravan", and the ensemble numbers reflected thorough thor-ough training, the stake Tabernacle Taber-nacle furnishing a pleasing setting for the event. Miss Joyce Lowe read the theme for this part of the program. Bob I n s c o r e presented the, "Princess Ida" theme, with duets by Loa Moss and Florence Beatty; trios, Junior Larkin, Kent Hansen Han-sen and Bob Inscore, Mrs. Spafford Spaf-ford joining them for the concluding conclud-ing quartet. These numbers were likewise excellently presented. The audience joined in singing the Dixie college song, with Sgt. Russell Hansen presenting "Old Glory", for the concluding, number. num-ber. Those who missed this fine performance per-formance were unquestionably losers, los-ers, say those who attended. |
