Show Childbirth Claims Life Of Mrs. Dorothy Cornelius and Baby VIRGIN, Utah. Our community was shocked to hear of the death of Mrs. Dorothy Cornelius, wife of Jesse Cornelius, at the Iron county hospital at Cedar City last Thursday, Nov. 6, of childbirth. The baby also died. Funeral services were held in Kanarra Saturday morning at 10:30, and at Virgin Saturday at 2 p. m., with Evan S. Lee conducting conduct-ing the services. Music was furnished furn-ished by Mrs. Lillian Workman, Mrs. Veda Lemmons, with Mrs. Donna Sandberg of Hurricane accompanying ac-companying them at the piano. Speakers were Stake President Claude Hirschi, James Judd, Maurice Maur-ice Nuttall, Bishop Elmer Graff of Hurricane; Lemuel Willis, George Wood and Bishop William Graff of Kanarra and Bishop Alma Flan-igan Flan-igan of Virgin. They all spoke well of the deceased. She was loved and well liked by all who; knew her as was shown by the great number of beautiful flowers and the large attendance. Mrs. Cornelius was the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wood, born Sept. 7, 1921, at Virgin. She lived in Kanarra for a while and attended school there, later attending at-tending three years at B. A. C. high school. She graduated from the Hurricane high school in 1939. On February 12, 1941, she married Jesse Cornelius. She will be really missed in our community. |
