Show School Board Election To Be Held On Wednesday, December 3 Attention is called to an advertisement adver-tisement in another part of this paper relative to a School Board Election for School Precinct No. 4, which comprises St. George, west of Main street, and all of Washington. Wash-ington. W. B. Mathis is at present pres-ent representing this district and has served as president of the board for most of 1941. This election elec-tion will be held Dec. 3rd, from 7 a. m., to 7 p. m., at the Elementary Ele-mentary school in St. George and in the gymnasium at Washington. It is necessary for a candidate who wishes his or her name on the ballot to file a written request re-quest or to have five citizens in his behalf to file such request at the office of the clerk of the Washington School District on or before closing time Nov. 17. Any resident of this district may file his or her name. Since the school district handles (Continued on page five) School Board Election " (Continued from first page) an annual budget of over $205,000 and has the largest single payroll in the county, as well as outlines the policy for all the children of the county it is very important that the voters give this election their support and inteerst. All regular voters of these districts are elegible. The present board members are W. B. Mathis, president, representative repre-sentative from this district; Dr. W. J. Reichman, vice president, from district No. 3, or East St. George; E. J. Graff, from district No. 2, representing Hurricane and LaVerkin; Heber Hirschi, from district No. 1, representing the towns of Sprindale, Rockville, Virgin, Toquerville, Leeds and New Harmony; Arthur P. Jones from district No. 5, representing the towns of Santa Clara, Ivins, Gunlock, Veyo, Central and Enterprise. |
