Show Santa Clara To Stage Third Annual Thanksgiving Day Rodeo 'Everything Ready For One of the Best Amateur Rodeos of the Year' Says Clair Hafen Santa Clara Citizens Issue Challenge For Barrel-Potato Race Thrills, action and a world of fun is being planned for all those who attend the Third Anual Santa Clara Homecoming Rodeo to be held in Santa Clara on Thanksgiving Thanks-giving Day at the Rodeo grounds, reports Clair Hafen, chairman of the recreation committee. "We have everything ready for one of the best and most exciting excit-ing amateur rodeos of the year", declares Mr. Hafen. "The committee commit-tee has already selected plenty of good, fast stock, including cows, steers, calves, yearlings and bulls. The Santa Clara boys are polishing polish-ing their horses with an eagle eye on the jack pot of the coming show." Although this is only the third rodeo, the people of Santa Clara have had recreational sports each Thanksgiving Day for a number of years. This rodeo has been an outgrowth of the other holiday sports. Years ago, sports on Thanksgiving Day consisted of foot races, pillow fights, baseball games, horse races, and similar sports. Those events were always well attended, not only by the people of Santa Clara, but by people from other communities in this section. Due to greater crowds each year, this annual sport has developed into a rodeo which for the past two years has been attended by hundreds from all sections of the county. "We, the people of Santa Clara", said Mr. Hafen, "invite you all to attend our celebration this Thanksgiving Thanks-giving Day, and enjoy the day with us. We also challenge visiting visit-ing committees to a barrel race and a potato race." Rodeo Regulations All entrance money will be divided di-vided among winning contestants of each group.
