Show Irwin Foster Graduated At Williams Field A recent graduate at the Wilhams Field Army air corps field near Pheonix, Ariz., Irwin Foster stopped stop-ped over here for a short visit with relatives and friends on Sunday. At the graduation exercises exer-cises he was awarded his wings as a Second Lieutenant in the Army air corps having completed a nine-weeks' advance course. Lieut. Foster took his primary training at the Army field at Ox-nard, Ox-nard, Calif. From there he was transferred to Bakersfield for his basic training and completed his advanced training at Williams Field. From here he left Sunday for Ester Field in Louisiana. There he will be given training as a tactical unit. This course will cover approximately a month's training in bombing and the flying of larger bombers used by the United States. There were 85 in the class which were graduated with Lieut. Foster at Williams Field. These graduates are being sent all over the nation for their final training. In commenting on his training, Lieut. Foster declared that he found it intensely interesting. He reports that they were given training as officers as well as flying. fly-ing. Their ground course included navigation, arms, ammunition and similar subjects. |
