Show 'Patriotism of Mothers' Federated Clubs Meet "Patriotism of Mothers", was the theme stressed at the southern district conference of Federated Women's clubs at Panguitch, May 23rd, which was attended by Roxey S. Romney, state district director; Mrs. Joseph T. Atkin, president of the local Athena club, affiliated with the federated; and Mrs. E. S. Gardner, district secretary. The group took Dixie sweet peas and other flowers with them, which were much appreciated appreci-ated by the hosts of Panguitch, since the weather there is still cold. Reporting the conference, the local delegates paid tribute to the women of Panguitch, more than 100 of whom belong to the Federation Fed-eration and carried out their plans in fine style for the conference, which included morning and afternoon aft-ernoon sessions, a dinner and an evening entertainment. Mrs. Romney came back with honors for the poetry contest with her number, "I've Given My Best To My Country". The Dixie group also gave numbers on the program otherwise. Mrs. Romney is also retained as district director in the state set-up. This conference is to be the last for the organization until after the war. |
