Show HURRICANE Cathren Riding Reporter Old 1 Covington from the Douglas airport was home Sunday for a short visit. Mrs. Verdin Liston and children who have been visiting with Mrs. Liston's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill I Iall, returned to their home in Provo. Her sister, Miss Stella Hall, went with her. She expects ex-pects to find employment there. Mrs. Annie Covington, Mrs. Mamie Hinton and Mrs. Lillian Roundy went to Los Angeles last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Covington, who are living in Ogden, where Darrell is employed, spent the week end with Mrs. Covington's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wiiford Leany. Miss Dorothy Ilirschi is employed em-ployed at the Graff Mercantile, und Miss Mary Webb at the James Judd store. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith have removed from Hurricane to Salt Lake county, having sold their home to Mrs. Jesse Roundy. Bishop Allen Stout is around on crutches due to an infection in his- leg. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Isom went by bus to Salt Lake City, Tuesday to be present at the graduating exercises of the L. D. S. nursing class. Their daughter, Genevieve, is one of the graduates. She will continue to work at the hospital through the summer. The Ladies' Literary club met with Mrs. Mary Hirschi Friday. The book review, "Annie Grows Up", was given by Mrs. Verda Woodbury. Those present were Mesdames Eva Webb, Amelia Hea-ton, Hea-ton, Verda Woodbury, Artie Reeve, Josephine Sandberg, Eva Strat-ton, Strat-ton, Emma Bradshaw, Cathren Riding, Mrs. Jennie Ballard and Mrs. Harry Otto. Miss LuEtta Imlay is taking her little nephew, Clark Benson, to Provo to spend the week end with his father and grandparents. Mrs. Ada Imlay is visiting at Cedar with her son and wife. Miss Christie Workman left on Sunday for Salt Lake City, where she is employed. Maurice, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernette Hinton, suffered suf-fered a severe accident when he fell from a moving automobile. The Misses Mary Spendlove, Iva Gibson and Eva Imlay are working work-ing at Boulder City; Florine Tweedie is working at Las Vegas and Delma Ballard and Roma Hea-ton Hea-ton at Provo. ' Mrs. Francis Spendlove has joined her husband at Boulder City, where he has been working for several months. Mrs. John Humphries and daughter have returned home from Springville, where she went to be with her husband who was seriously ser-iously ill. He is still bedridden. Mrs. Mary L. Dickenson is spending some time with her daughter, Mrs. Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Taylor and Rex Thompson went to Circle-ville Circle-ville Saturday to spend Sunday with Mrs. Thompson. They returned re-turned Sunday evening, bringing Mrs. Thompson and children with them for a short visit. Mrs. Ethel Baker has returned from Millard county, where she has been visiting. She expects, to go back about the last of the month, when her son, Paul, gets his call to the Army. Mrs. George Spendlove is in bed with a cast on her leg, due to an injury to the knee cap. Mrs. Owen Bergner was called to the Uintah Basin yesterday on account of the serious illness of her mother, Mrs. Maurice Cope. |
