Show UYERKIN Pansy L. Ilardy lie porter A surprise party in honor of her birthday anniversary on May 20th was given Mrs. Thora Gubler at her tiome. There were fourteen; guests present to wish her many happy returns of the day. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Kxcell and baby son, John Gregory were visitors vis-itors at the home of Mrs. Ex-cell's Ex-cell's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Judd. Mr. Kxcell returned to his home early in the week, and Mrs. KxceU intends to visit her parents lor a few weeks. Mrs. Harriet Woodbury has gone to Albuquerque, N. M., to visit her daughter, Mis. Ezoe Harrison and family. Mr. and Mrs. James Judd are leaving LaVerkin to make their home in St. George; however Mr. Judd remarked he was leaving the key under the door so they could come home occasionally. Mrs. Max Woodbury was a visitor vis-itor at Payson this week. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Woodbury and family are moving to Provo, where Mr. Woodbury has employment employ-ment in the steel plant. The family will be greatly missed in the ward, where they have all taken an active part for many years. Mrs. Woodbury has been Mutual president for the past three years, and all the family are active in church and town enterprises. Miss Pauline Fuller is at home after another year of teaching at Manti. Pres. Wayne Hinton and Frank Barber were the speakers at Sacrament Sac-rament meeting. A kitchen shower for Mrs. Ben Blake, the former Theo Asay, was given at the home of her sister, Mrs. Gertrude Cluff, on Tuesday. Theo was married a week ago at Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Gifford were week end visitors here from Las Vegas. Mansel Scow, who has employment employ-ment at Hawthorne, Nev., visited his family for a week. Winferd Gubler, who is employed em-ployed in Nevada, is a visitor here with his family. A shower for Miss Ora Hardy was given here Saturday. Mrs. Brigham Hardy and daughter, daugh-ter, Nada, entertained at a kitchen shower for Miss Ora Hardy on Saturday. There was a large crowd present and many lovely gifts were received. Miss Hardy is to become the bride of James Harris, of Nelson, Nev. Mr. Harris Har-ris is formerly from Texas, and is a new convert to the L. D. S. church. Mrs. Hardy, mother of Ora, accompanied the young couple to Las Vegas, where they planned to be married the fore part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Harris Merrill and family of Las Vegas, were Sunday visitors here. Mrs. Charles Barnum of St. George was a week end visitor here, attending the shower of her niece, Miss Ora Hardy. |
