Show Fire Destroys Roof Of Wallis Home Sunday Approximately $500 in damage was done by a fire of unknown origin which occurred at the John R. Wallis home on last Sunday. The fire was discovered just before be-fore 1 p. m. Main damage was done to the roof of the home. Tins was burned to such an extent that it will have to have a new roof, states Mr. Wallis. Some damage was done to the upstairs rooms and a little i to furniture in those rooms. "We have carried insurance on this home for 29 years." said Mr. Wallis "and I was sorely tempted ! to drop it at the last time that it expired, but decided not to do I so. Needless to say we are very happv that we didn't. "My wife and I wish to express , our full appreciation for the work of the fire department. A check was made and it was found that thev were on the job five minutes min-utes after the alarm was turned in We surely appreciate their efforts ef-forts and those of the others who helped in the carrying f out of furniture and other items. |
