Show Duane Esplin, B.Y.C. Player, Given All-Conference Rating by Salt Lake Tribune Duane Esplin made one of the forward positions on the Big Seven conference first team, according ac-cording to the Salt Lake Tribune, his running mate being Leason McCloud of Colorado. George Hamburg of Colorado was picked as center, with Bill Strannigan of Wyoming and Deb Smith of Utah as guards. The Tribune states: "A great little sophomore star from B.Y.U., Duane Esplin, gets the forward job because of his consistent, high-scoring high-scoring all year. Esplin has averaged aver-aged nearly 11 points per game during his first year of college ball. There is no player in the league with a better eye for the hoop. But Esplin is equally strong on defense. He is also an excellent excel-lent passer a natural in the game of basketball." |
