Show Four St. George Wards Hold Meeting In Tabernacle Sunday The four St. George wards met at the stake Tabernacle at 7 p. m. Sunday, after holding preliminary sacramental services in their respective re-spective meeting places, for the purpose of viewing the L.D.S. Welfare Program film reel and hearing the address which accompanies ac-companies its presentation. Accomplishments of the Welfare program throughout the church from New York in the east to Dixie in the west, and from north to south of the U. S. was covered in the theme of the film reel and address. Buildings, storage pits, sheds, and other means of housing the output and accruing stores of supplies including food, clothing cloth-ing and other human necessities, homes built, giant grain elevators, lands cropped and projects put over otherwise were interestingly presented. The address was given by Pres. Harold S. Snow with Bishop Andrew McArthur of the south ward operating the machine. While some have previously viewed the film and heard the talk, many of the audience were seeing it for the first time, and were able to visualize the possible scope of this great venture in prepardness, with its associated opportunities for providing employment em-ployment on self-sustaining basis for those who are needing this assistance, and giving assurance that even under the most trying conditions that face the world today to-day there still exist ways and means of making a living and of being able to provide the necessities necessi-ties and many of the desirable things' of life by adherence to the counsel given, and pushing the work along. |
