Show January Look Magazine To Contain Mormon Story Miss Maurine Whipple has returned re-turned from California where she handed in the pictures and story of the Mormons in Utah she did for Look Magazine. She reports that the editor of the magazine was very impressed with the pictures, pic-tures, and that the issue containing contain-ing the story will be out around January 1. Over 300 pictures were taken by "Look's" photographer of Utah and its people, most of them in southern Utah. The editor told Miss Whipple that they had spent much more money on this story than they had anticipated because it turned out to have so many interesting points. Miss Whipple asks for this opportunity op-portunity to express her appreciation appreci-ation for the cooperation of the people. While in California, Miss Whipple Whip-ple did another story for Look Magazine. She was assigned to interview in-terview Miss Mary Lee, a very promising young movie star of 17 who is being schooled to take the place of Deanna Durbin and Judy Garland, and to write a story on her life. This work brought Miss Whipple in contact with many in- teresting and famous people, such as Gene Autry and Ted Weames, the orchestra leader who discov- u ered this rising young singing star. u Miss Whipple also announces P1 that she anticipates returning to tf California in the near future to li do more work with Look Magazine u and to finish her new book. si |
