Show Many Water Facilities Built On Upper Virgin In Last 3 Years During the last three years 47 water facility projects have been built in the upper Virgin river area, reports Elwood Manwaring, water facilities supervisor. These projects include water wheels, pipe lines, storage tanks, reservoirs, reser-voirs, pumping plants, culinary systems, windmills and water purchase loans. These projects have been made possible through the Water Facilities program, which is under the direction of the Bureau of Agricultural economics, eco-nomics, Soil Conservation service and Farm Security administration, the three government agencies cooperating. co-operating. This program is in operation throughout the upper Virgin area, consisting of Washington county and the Arizona Strip, in an effort to increase water development and utilization. Assistance under this program is available to farmers throughout this area for water development on their individual farms or for groups of farmers who desire larger cooperative or incorporated projects. Farmers in need of engineering help and financial aid in developing develop-ing their water resources are encouraged en-couraged to visit the Soil Conservation Conser-vation service or the Farm Security Secur-ity administration to discuss their water problems. Both agencies are located in the Pioneer Protection Protec-tion building in St. George. |
