Show LaVERKIN Pansy L. Hardy Reporter LaVerkin Primary children were presented Sunday in ward Primary Pri-mary conference the theme being "Keys of the Kingdom". The keys presented were faith, by the first and second groups; baptism by the. Zion boys and girls; Priesthood Priest-hood authority by Trail Builder groups; love of fellowmen by the Home Builders. The setting for the songs, short dramas and talks was appropriately of spring. A large crowd of parents attended. The D. U. P. meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Mary C. Hardy last week. The lesson on governors of Utah was given by Mrs. La Vina Segler. Refreshments were served. A large crowd of LaVerkin people enjoyed an April Fool's picnic outing last Saturday evening eve-ning on the hills between LaVerkin La-Verkin and Virgin. A pot-luck supper was followed by games and singing. Jean Hepworth was honored with a surprise party at her home Monday evening. Out - of - door games were followed by a chili supper. The Red Cross project of making mak-ing afghan's for the U. S. soldiers, was continued Wednesday evening at the Relief Society hall. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Stevens entertained at an out-door party last week end, the occasion being Mr. Steven's birthday anniversary. Canal cleaning is still progressing. progres-sing. The water is expected in this week. Mrs. Angie Gifford visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Gifford Gif-ford last Sunday. April 12th has been set for a farewell party honoring Henry W. Gubler, who is leaving for a short-term short-term mission to California. Five of his sons and one daughter have completed L. D. S. missions, but he has not previously filled a mission mis-sion himself. He is thrilled with the prospect of this opportunity. W. Tell Gubler was home from Richfield last Sunday. Misis Reva Stock of Salt Lake City visited relatives here last week. r |
