Show Legion Members Urged To Help Veterans Adjusting To Civilian Life May Prove Hard for War Veterans Stressing the part that the American Ameri-can Legion should take in helping help-ing returning war veterans to adjust themselves to civilian life, J. Hardy Hickman, department commander, as principal speaker at the Legion meeting Monday night, told those present that they must help the returning veterans vet-erans in every way possible. He explained the program as outlined for the veterans and told the Legionnaires that they must help the service mien take advantage of it. The meeting was held in the Legion hall. Other Legion officials in attendance at-tendance were Bill Higbee, national na-tional rehabilitation chairman and Claud Edwards, district adjutant. The preliminary program, under the direction of Vernon Worthen and Claud Worthen was furnished by Mrs. Evan S. Pickett presenting present-ing three numbers from her dance review that is to be held April 14. These three numbers were something some-thing new and outstanding for St. George. The performance of her girls was attractive and beautiful. beau-tiful. At the conclusion of the meeting, meet-ing, refreshments were served under the direction of the refreshment re-freshment committee, Vivian Milne, Ambrose Cannon and Clair Morris. Before the regular meeting, the. executive committee met at the home of Post Commander Roy Williams, where Mrs. Williams served dinner. Mr. Hickman and Mr. Higbee were special guests. |
