Show Mrs. John Whipple Sells Her Interest In O. K. Market To Harold Miles Announcement is made this week by Harold Miles and Mrs. John Whipple of the sale by Mrs. Whipple of her interest in the O. K. Market to Mr. Miles. The sale was effective as of April 1st. Mrs. Whipple will retain her interest in the building and refrigeration re-frigeration equipment. This business orginally was started in August 1922 as the O. K. Cafe and Bakery by Ernest Nelson and Andrew Sorenson in the building now occupied by the Bleak Cleaners and the Fix-It Shop. In October of that year Mr. Miles became partner of Mr. Nelson. In August of 1924 they moved their business across the street into the Atkin building. In 1927 they quit the cafe and bakery bak-ery business and went into the grocery and meat lines. This business busi-ness was under the management of Mr. Nelson up until the time of his death in February of 1931. Following Mr. Nelson's death, Mr. Miles took over management and Mrs. Famie Miles Whipple came into the store and has continued to work with Mr. Miles as copartner co-partner since that time. The business continued to prosper pros-per and in the fall of 19.35 they started to build their new building build-ing whore they are now located. They opened in the new building in January of 1936. The business has shown a continued growth since it was first started until today to-day it is recognized as one of the finest IGA stores of the state. In commenting on the change of ownership, both Mr. Miles and Mrs. Whipple express their appreciation ap-preciation to the people of this section for the patronage that the store has received in the past. They also wish to assure their customers and friends that tbr samr high type of servic will b' continued in the future. |
