Show Mrs. Lovinia S. Berry Feted On 90th Birthday HURRICANE, Utah. Many friends and relatives called Sunday, Sun-day, June 25th at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim J. Webb in Hurricane, to pay tribute to Mrs. Lovinia (Aunt Vinnie) Sylvester Berry. The occasion was her 90th birthday anniversary. Born in Utah, June 25, 1854, she was a daughter of James and Rebecca Nichleson. Berry. The family moved south when she was , a small child, settling in Kanarra, Iron county, Utah. She married William Berry, who was killed by a mob while on an L. D. S. mission mis-sion in the southern states, leaving leav-ing her a widow at the age of 30, with five small children. Besides helping to provide for her children she was active in , the Relief Society and other church organizations, and after her children were married, she spent many years as an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple. For the past several years she has made her home in Hurricane, with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Webb. At present she is in excellent health, assists with the work about the Webb home, and each day spends an hour or more reading to a neighbor woman wo-man who is blind. |
