Paul Thompson Entertained Prior To Departure Tuesday To Join U. S. Navy Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Pace entertained a dozen friends at their home last Friday evening honoring Paul Thompson prior to his departure Tuesday to join the U. S. Navy. The evening was devoted to group singing and other musical entertainment, including violin solos by Mrs. Ellis Everett, vocal solos by Mrs. Mack G. Jackson Jack-son and Miss DeLora Johnson, and piano numbers by the guest of honor. The group also had the privilege privil-ege of hearing the recordings made recently by the Dixie String Ensemble, a piano duet by Mrs. Evan Pickett and Paul Thompson; "Ave Maria" with vibraharp and piano by Mrs. Pickett and Mrs. Pace, and an original piano composition com-position "Cave Man Dance" by Paul Thompson. Among other events honoring this local musician during the past week were family and other small group dinners including one given by Mrs. Mack Jackson.
