Show BUNKERYILLE, Hev. Mrs. Mary II. Leavitt Reporter The 100th anniversary program honoring the Prophet and Patriarch Patri-arch Joseph Smith and Hyrum Smith was carried out in church on Sunday. "Joseph Smith's First Prayer" was sung by Miss Hazel Waite and Miss La Verne Adams; Orley Waite gave a talk on the "First Vision; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leavitt sang, "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief". Fielding Hardy was the principal speaker. Orley Waite returned from a two-year mission to the New England states last week. He drove a car and came by way of Portland, Oregon to visit his brother, Vern Waite, who is stationed sta-tioned there in the Army. He then visited his brother, Jay Waite i at Oakland, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leavitt visited their two daughters, Mrs. , William Brooks and Mrs. Walter 1 Miles in St. George last week. 1 Bert Leavitt is here on a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Leavitt. He spent the j past 8 months in Flagstaff, Ariz-ona Ariz-ona going to school and is now transferred to U. C. L. ' A. for further training. A social was given in his honor last Saturday ! night. It also honored Jack Leavitt ( who was here on a visit and left Tuesday for induction into the armed forces. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hall and ' three sons of Compton, California are here visiting friends and relatives. rela-tives. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leavitt and ' son of Las Vegas were here over ( the week end. Neil Leavitt and his sister, Marion, returned from Idaho and i went on to Oceanside, California where he is stationed in the army camp. Marion will visit a sister in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hardy announce the birth of a son on June 20, at Las Vegas to Mr. and 5 Mrs. H. F. White. Mrs. White is the former Elfine Hardy; her husband is in military training at New Orleans, La. He was able to come home on furlough to see his wife and new son. |
