Show Legion Auxiliary Holds Final Meet of Year; Reviews Year's Activities Closing their records for the year 1943-44, the Women's Auxiliary, Lester Keate Post No. 90, the American Legion, feel their accomplishments ac-complishments have been well worth reviewing. Mrs. Edward Brooks, historian, says their scrap book indicates an active program, their outstanding achievement being be-ing the sponsoring of the public meeting which has resulted in the recreation room for the younger set of St. George. Their records show they have held eight regular meetings, a Christmas party in December, the Gold Star Mother's tea in May, the patriotic program for July, 1943, assisted with Armistice Day activities; sponsored the Poppy poster activity; and cooperated with the Legionnaires in their respective programs. Their outstanding out-standing programs in regular meetings included the legislative meeting with the address given by Mrs. LeRoy H. Cox, chairman; the Navy Week program with Mrs. F. B. Syphus, chairman, as sneaker: and the Pan-American program address by Mrs. K. M. Cannon, chairman. The Auxiliary was recently reorganized re-organized with Mrs. Bert Hall, Washington as president; Mrs. Nettie K. Morris and Mrs. Clair Morris, vice presidents; Mrs. Guy Hafen, chaplain; Mrs. J. W. Prince, historian; sergeants - at -arms, Mrs. Orlin Brockbank and Mrs. Bryon J. Lund; other officers offi-cers to be appointed. Plans are underway for the Fourth of July program, and the Auxiliary will hold their July business meeting and social at the Washington home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hall, July 17. |
