Show ' 1 4 : - - 1 WAVE S2c VIVIAN SNOW Vivian Snow, S2c of WAVES In Capitol Vivian Snow S2c, of the WAVES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Snow, St. George, joined the Navy in October, 1943, and has been on duty in the Nation's capital since Dec. 1, 1943. She works in communications com-munications at the Navy Department, Depart-ment, a division where every job no matter how small, contributes vitally to the success of the fighting fight-ing fleet of the United States Navy. Off duty, Seaman Snow lives at WAVE Quarters "D," largest WAVE Quarters in the country, where everything possible is provided for her comfort. Here she is shown in the Ship's Service, where she can purchase anything from a fancy ice cream sundae to stationery, toilet articles, soap flakes, etc. Right on the station is a mess hall where she eats three fuli course meals a day. In the Recreation Building, Seaman Sea-man Snow enjoys the bowling alleys, swimming pool, large gymnasium, gym-nasium, lounges, library and telephone tele-phone center where a long distance operator is on duty to help her call her home at any time of day or evening. While on the station, with its cool trees and soft lawns, Seaman Snow may wear her uniform, or sport clothes, as she wishes. She need not wear her hat or jacket in other words, she is at home. However, when ready to . go into town to see the famous sites of Washington, D. C, or to visit the many active USO Clubs or to enjoy the movies, concerts, theatres or other entertainment facilities in the Nation's Capital, she proudly dons her Navy blue or her new summer gray seersucker seer-sucker uniform. |
